Cops Get Local Music in 2097

from Dreamland by Collapsing Opposites

lyrics

I am one hundred seventeen years of age.
I’ve had a lot of time to learn from my mistakes.
I never read the laws ‘til I went away.
I never wrote the laws until today.

That’s when a cop came up to me…

And, you know, I really like to drink lots of beer.
And, you know, I really like to have all my friends near.
I’m glad those age restrictions ended today.
I’m glad that all my friends can hear my band play.

The cop said, “hey, can I see your ID?”
and I said, “no,” because that’s my privacy.

The hardest thing about getting older is realizing that everyone in power
are so much younger than you. What the hell do they know?
Like the Minister in Charge of Energy and Mines –
I was doing that job when you were just a glimmer in your parent’s eye.

The cop said, “okay, how about an autograph,
because I like I music and I think I really like your band?”
Well I said, “maybe you’d like to buy our new CD?”
The cop said, “I’ll take three for my children and me!”
